Before Your Surgery (Pre-op)
A nurse from Inland Surgery Center (ISC) will call you one or two business days prior to your surgery to review instructions and answer any questions you may have. At the time of this call, they will inform you of your surgery time and expected arrival time.
If you have NOT received a call by noon the day before your procedure, please call ISC at (909) 793-4701 to request this information. Note, if your surgery is on Monday, you should expect a call no later than noon time on Friday.
Unless otherwise specified by your doctor, you do not need any prescription eye drops prior to your surgery. At the time of signing your consent form for the surgery in the clinic, your post-operative eye drops were sent to your pharmacy. You should pick these up at the pharmacy prior to surgery; however, you do not need to start these until the day after surgery appointment. Further instructions will be given to you at that clinic visit.
Reminder, do NOT eat food or drink after midnight the night before your surgery. Do take ALL your medications with small sips of water, even on the morning of surgery, unless you are told otherwise (e.g. some diabetic medications, blood thinners, aspirin, etc). If you eat or drink a snack or beverage on the morning or day of surgery, your surgery will like be cancelled and postponed.
Note, the following medications need to be held for ONE WEEK prior to surgery, as per ISC anesthesia guidelines:
-
Ozempic (Semaglutide)
-
Wegovy (Semaglutide)
-
Trulicity (Dulaglutide)
-
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide)
-

-
Victoza (Liraglutide)
-
Bydureon (Exenatide)
-

You will need a family member or friend to accompany you on the day of surgery (to and from). You cannot drive yourself due to anesthesia medications administered on the day of surgery. Ride-share (eg Uber/Lyft) is also NOT permitted.
If you need to cancel or re-schedule your surgery for any reason, please contact our surgery scheduler Monica via email (monicaabdulla@vrsurgeons.com) or phone (760-596-3950) at our Victorville office as soon as possible.
